"Everyone enjoyed the performances of Idris & Dawud, but what made them so
unique and special were the positive messages they gave out while entertaining adults and children.
Our children were enthralled. Everywhere we went in school the children were
coming up to Dawud & Idris and wanting to talk to them.
It was one of the best ways I have seen, as a teacher, of involving children in thinking about the world they live in, in a positive way.
The messages of Peace and Love were delivered so effectively.
One of our most challenging pupils said to me "Everyone is really OK if you
get to know them. Them Musicians had some good ideas."
Parents and children at school keep asking me when they are coming back.

On July 16th, 2008 Dawud & Idris attended the grand opening of the Anderton Park Children's Center in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The opening was preceded by a day of educational workshops, offered by Dawud & Idris to the staff and students of the adjacent Anderton Park School. The two artists then presented an intimate concert on the day of the Center's inauguration to an audience of city counsel representatives and local social activists.

Following the show, speeches and songs by the Anderton Park School Choir, Dawud & Idris were pleased to officially open the centre, which will provide medical advice to expecting mothers, educational programs for families and links to social services for domestic problems. Dawud & Idris say,"Being invited to help launch the centre was one of the greatest honours we've ever received." |
