Abraham Jam in Solidarity With The City of Christchurch

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un

We all belong to the same source of divine life and love, and to that source we must return.

Having awakened to the horrific news of 49 murders in two mosques of Christchurch, New Zealand, the members of Abraham Jam send our love, support, and solidarity to the city of Christchurch, and to all who are attacked, oppressed, or marginalized due to bigotry. We believe that the only way forward is together, living a better story, building strong relationships across lines that would separate us. We believe that the only truly effective answer to hatred is love. Though the work of love requires monumental patience, working now for a harvest in the future, we believe that love wins in the end.

Blessings on all who are affected by this tragedy, and on all who are trying to build a better way.

~  Abraham Jam (David LaMotte, Billy Jonas & Dawud Wharnsby)

  1. Ameen! Indeed, hatred must be repelled with love and goodness and by building bridges of peace and harmony. May all the love and goodness of those that have passed after this senseless and most barbaric act, live on and endure through their family and future generations. And may we all continue to show, by both beautiful deed and action, what Islam truly stands for; never a faith standing for fear and hatred as those whom are infused with Islamophobia would have others think, but rather a faith that stands for: I Shall Love All Mankind! As the Quran says, “mankind is a single nation,” and the great goal before us all, no matter what our faith is to “vie with one another in good works,” for in the end we will all be brought together.

  2. Thank you David,Billy,Dawud so heartbreaking here in Christchurch Joyce an I have been playing your music voices of angels thanks love to you all Pete an Joyce Majendie

  3. So meaningful to me to have read your post and then spoken with you a few days ago. Did my spirit a ton of good to know that, in our seemingly broad world appearing to be mired with darkness, like minds and hearts know no distance, know no hate and hold love high as a light of hope. Peace my brother and sister.
